We know that going into something new can be intimidating for kids and adults. We try to reduce this anxiety by starting students out with a private lesson. These are taught by Master Hall, the school's owner, or Sensei Breward, our Chief Instructor, and give you a chance to learn some basic techniques before jumping into one of our regular, group classes. It also gives you a chance to see how we teach and what our martial art is like before you commit your valuable time to a regular schedule.
I'm too old. I'm too out of shape. I'm not flexible enough. Adults can come up with a laundry list of reasons why they shouldn't take class - even though they really want to. Our instructors are all adults, many of them in their thirties and forties. They came to the martial arts as adults and are very aware of the concerns adults bring to the beginning class. Our adult program starts off slowly and builds at a steady pace, giving the adult students a chance to reintroduce their bodies to physical activity.
If you like what you've seen here so far then your next step would be to stop by the school, watch a class and speak to Master Hall or Sensei Breward. You can find the times of the beginning classes on our class schedule. You can call ahead and make an appointment or just drop by when you're in the neighborhood. If you're not sure where we are then we have a map for you.
